Mountain Sky Soap’s History – A Family Recipe

The original founders, Raynald and Nina, started this family business in their rural farmhouse basement back in 1993. Being avid gardeners, they also canned their seasonal produce and love supporting local farms. It was the next natural step to start creating Mountain Sky soap bars with local supplies, all while keeping a healthy family life with the kids staying at home during those important years.

The company’s name was actually inspired by the combination of their daughters’ middle names, Mountain and Sky. As the children grew older, Mountain Sky Soap became a great success, a larger warehouse was essential which allowed for the development of new products.

Lorette Kalender: Director of Development

From One Family To Another

When the original founders retired, Lorette Kalender took over the reins of Mountain Sky Soap in April of 2023. This brought on an immediate expansion with manufacturing in British Colombia and now Quebec.

Having helped built her family-based business, Pharmaspa, over the last twenty years, Lorette is the perfect new leader for Mountain Sky Soap. Her solid experience in manufacturing body-safe products that use natural extracts and fragrances for therapeutic benefits is exactly what Mountain Sky Soap needs to keep growing.

With past and present owners sharing the same family, business, and environmental values, Mountain Sky Soap is prepared to expand its horizons moving into the future.
